Blind Tiger

Liverpool [2015]

This contemporary dim sum restaurant and bar fuses Asian design influences with Liverpool industrial heritage. The exposed brick walls, steel work detailing and reductivist approach to finishes allow the quality of the materiality to express itself. The furnishings and decor, used to soften the raw materiality, are suggestive of the Asian theme without being overtly oriental.

Snook have remodeled the interior with heavy steel support portals added to carry the loads of the above floors allowing a bar area that links the dining area to be carved out of the basement space. As you enter the space, the Asian speakeasy vibe is tangible through the use of rich colours and warm of materials. A rear entrance with access stairs leads to a ‘Zen’ style urban garden with dramatic bespoke artwork and stone carvings.
