Matchworks II

Speke, Liverpool [2002-2007]

Matchworks II is the conversion of a derelict warehouse on the edge of Liverpool into office units. Key to the design was providing units that were flexible [capable of easily splitting into both larger and smaller units]; such that the landlord could adapt offices for let as tenant demand dictated.

Testament to the projects success is that the complex is fully let and has tenants as diverse as Liverpool FC TV, the NHS and a local Karate Club. Aesthetically, the design of the units are a response to both the sites industrial heritage, a relatively modest budget and a desire to embrace the utilitarian and the functional.
